Who made the Crue cut?

I think the following should receive Mallard Crue passes:

1.) The guy who makes the burgers at Midtown.
2.) Whoever paved I-40.
3.) The Watson's chick.
4.) A LR trolley driver.
5.) The Ivory Billed Woodpecker.
6.) Anyone who can eat breakfast at Satellite in less than 30 min.
7.) The guy who knows where everything is at Kraft Co.
8.) That girl who streaked at the Razorbacks game.
9.) Someone who knows what "Nu" means.

and, most importantly:

10.) The kid from the Unique Furniture commercials.

No Rain Tonight! (Or at least not until after midnight)

Barry Brant just said no thunderstorms until the early morning, which should keep the storms away until after midnight. More good news: the cooler air should blow through around 8pm, making for a great evening on the terrace.

Mallard Crue

Word on the street is that The Peabody will be making it even better to sign up for the Mallard Crue season pass. Not only do you get yourself in and a guest free each week, but now the first special perk to be announced will be 50% off all food from the bar menu at Mallards Bar, including hamburgers, pizza, crab cakes, shrimp cocktail, etc. Effective immediately! In other words, if you don't have a Crue card yet, you need to get one. Only $100. Ask at the desk tonight or sign up through the website.

Celeb watch!

Anybody else hear that Joey Lauren Adams is bringing Ashley Judd and Renee Zelwegger to the Peabody Rooftop Party tonight?

(Renee told her new husband, Kenny Chesney, that he can't come along because there are going to be too many hot chicks around.)

As the little boy says in the Unique Furniture commercials: "Cool."

A-440

Check out what Amy Brawner of Arkansas Times had to say about this week's band:

The Little Rock Peabody Hotel, taking a cue from its mother Memphis location's Rooftops parties, is into its new RiverTop Party schedule with a show each Friday from 7 p.m. until midnight featuring various touring party bands. A-440, a highly danceable funk, soul and rhythm and blues band that has toured with James Brown, B.B. King, the Bar-Kays and Al Green, will play Friday, May 13. The event is open for ages 21 and up, and admission is $5. For more information, call 399-8059 or visit www.rivertopparty.com.

The Darkness

Here are some of my pics from Friday night.

Next week they are going to add some more lighting in back. Good thing. I accidently hit on Warwick Sabin for 5 minutes.
